Blue Ball Elementary School

Blue Ball Families and Community,

Welcome to this week's edition of the Blue Ball Elementary School Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

Learners enjoyed special days this week! Kindergarten celebrated the 100th Day of School and 1st Grade celebrated the 101st Day of School.

Spotlight on Academics

Families are invited to join with us in discovering the fun of the Winter Olympics by participating in our BBES 2026 Winter Olympics Medals Graph. This activity encourages your family to graph the medals that the US wins and another country of your choice. After the Olympics are over, your family can compare the two countries.

As of Sunday morning, the United States had one Gold medal in Alpine Skiing - Women's Downhill. You can see an image of what your child would color and the corresponding tally mark.

Book Bingo Challenge papers can continue to be completed and turned in as well!

Hershey Bears Reading Log: Your child is bringing home a reading log that when completed can be returned for a certificate and code to get a Hershey Bears ticket.
A worksheet displays a tally chart and a bar graph template for tracking medal counts.

Staff Member of the Week

Staff members have the opportunity to recognize their peers for their contributions and dedication. We celebrated Mrs. Snader and Miss Stewart during morning announcements this past week. We extend our sincere thanks to Texas Roadhouse for providing certificates and meal coupons for these individuals.

PTO Reminders

Our next PTO Meeting is Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 6:30 PM in the Blue Ball Conference Room. A virtual link will be sent prior to the meeting for those unable to attend in person.

The Blue Ball PTO is excited to kick off our Gertrude Hawk Spring Fundraiser! This is an easy (and delicious!) way to support our school—and the chocolate makes perfect Easter basket goodies too.  Packets were sent home with learners on Friday. The fundraiser runs through February 23rd.

Excellence in Attendance

We are grateful to our families for sharing your children each day as we grow and learn together. When students attend school consistently, they not only strengthen essential skills in reading, writing, and math, but also benefit from collaboration with peers—sharing ideas, building teamwork, and forming lasting friendships. Being together nurtures social development and fosters a sense of belonging that enriches the learning experience. When everyone is present, we grow stronger, more confident, and better prepared for success—together.

Congratulations to Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grades. You had 95% or better attendance this past week!

Congratulations to our weekly pizza winners. These learners have had an average daily attendance of 95% or more. We are grateful for DiMaria's Pizza and Italian Kitchen for their continued support.
